The largest Privately Owned NW Hotel Chain Helps set a
National Trend by Going 100% Smoke Free, November 19,
2008
Portland, OR – Shilo Inns, the largest privately owned and
operated hotel chain in the Western United States, will be
helping to set a national trend—They are going 100% smoke
free in all hotels and restaurants on January 1, 2009.
With the approach of New Year’s Eve, Shilo Inns’ owner,
Mark Hemstreet, announced that Shilo Inns would usher in
the New Year by making all Shilo Inn hotels and restaurants
100% smoke free.
“We care about our customers as well as our employees’
health and comfort,” Hemstreet said. “We consistently get
more and more requests from our guests for smoke free
rooms and since we have already had 95% of our rooms and
suites non-smoking for many years, we felt it was the best
decision to finally turn the entire hotel and restaurant
environment to “Smoke Free”.
“Guests have always gotten more for their money when they
choose to stay at a Shilo Inn,” Hemstreet said. “Now they
will also be getting a fresh, 100% smoke-free environment
at every Shilo hotel and restaurant.”
Shilo offers business and leisure travelers a great value in
healthy surroundings. The fully equipped fitness centers,
spacious pools, spas, steam rooms and saunas, and now a
smoke free environment make it easy for valued Shilo guests
to compliment their New Years resolutions for a healthy
2009.
