New Jersey GASP was a partner with Donna M. Shimp
in her landmark 1976 court victory in New Jersey
which established a worker's right to have a healthy
smoke-free workplace.
Ms. Regina Carlson was a long-time Executive Director
of N.J. GASP.
Ms. Karen Blumenfeld, the current Executive Director,
was the major contact with Mr. William Oberle and the
National Council of Legislators from Gaming States
(NCLGS) in their passage of the National "Smoke-Free
Gaming Resolution Jan 2009. Ms. Blumenfeld was an
early pioneering leader in the now rapidly expanding
Smoke-Free Gaming movement.
New Jersey GASP has led many other firsts in
secondhand smoke control, in addition to their
significant role in the 1975-76 Donna M. Shimp
Smoke-Free Workplace case victory, along with John F.
Banzaf, III of ASH, who was the Attorney in the case.
